55 Pound Adjustable Dumbbells

1) Intro - I am having a great time talking to you guys about different adjustable dumbbells. Today, I will be discussing adjustable dumbbells that max out at 55 pounds. Note: I will go ahead and throw the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells (which go up to 52.5 pounds) in the 55 and 50 pound category. Before I talk about the Bowflex set, let's discuss some of the other 55 pound weights. I find it quite interesting that there are actually weights at this class, but regardless, let's get on with the reviews.

1a) Lifecore Corebell 5-55-Pound Adjustable Dumbbell System - (Note: I added the stand to the deal, because the dumbbells alone are actually the same price. May as well pay the same price + get the stand.)
This is one of the most popular dumbbells on Amazon at it's class. Running for the high price of $450, (which is $150.00 more than the up-to 50 pound dumbbells that I got), this dumbbell set received an average 3.5 out of 5 star rating, based off of 14 customer reviews. Features include the ability to adjust weight amount by 2.5 pound increments, slide and lock system that allows you to select the proper weight amount for you, and more. Because there were a wide variety of opinions on these dumbbells, I highly recommend checking the reviews out for yourself. As for my opinion, I know you can get something better for a lower price.
1b) Lifesmart Adjustable 5- to 55-Pound Dumbbells (Pair) -
Although these dumbbells only received one review on Amazon, they may definitely be worth checking out. This set features the ability to change the weight between 5 and 55 pounds, in 5 pound increments, and much more. The one reviewer of this set of dumbbells stated that they would've given them a 5 out of 5 star rating instead of a 4 out of 5 star rating, but the set had some plastic where the reviewer thought it should have been made out of stronger materials. Aside from that, this set sells for $350.00, and seems to be a good pair.
1c) Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells (52.5 Pounds) -
This is probably the most popular set of dumbbells on the market. I'm going to go ahead and talk about the Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells in the 55 pound class, because there really isn't a 52.5 pound class, unless you count these weights.
With 141 customer reviews on Amazon, these dumbbells received an average rating of4 out of 5 stars. Many 1 star ratings were present, as many reviewers complained about locking and safety issues. Note: See warranty information in description. Aside from the obvious problems, these adjustable 52.5 pound dumbbells feature the ability to adjust weight amount with a dial, adjust weight with 2.5 pound increments, and much more. But because the diversity of the reviews, I highly recommend checking them out for yourself.
2) My Recommendation -
I would never pay the amount of money these customers are asking for, for a 5 pound upgrade from 50 pound weights. Because of this, I would either upgrade to a new weight class completely, or downgrade to 50 pound adjustable weights, which can be much cheaper. If you don't mind spending the money, the 52.5 pound Bowflex adjustable dumbbells would be your best bet. (Note: Their $100.00 more expensive than the 50 pound Powerblock adjustable dumbbells, which run for $300.00 at Dicks Sporting Goods.

The market is currently flooded with dumbbells and it can be a hard task to find the best adjustable dumbbells. That’s why I asked my gym instructor for advise which type of dumbbell to get and he show me this Bowflex. This adjustable dumbbell is singular yet it delivers results just like you would with a twin dumbbell. An added advantage is that its weight can be adjusted from 10 pounds to 90 pounds whereby you can make adjustments in 5-pound increments. All you need do is simply twist the dial. If someone is curious may find them here http://bestdumbbellsguide.com .
